KOTA KINABALU: Two more students tested positive for Covid-19 in Sabah.
These two cases are part of a new group, the Jalan Labuk Sandakan group, detected on Saturday (January 30).
Prior to this, 10 students and four teachers tested positive for Covid-19 between January 20 and 26.
The minister in charge of Covid-19 affairs in Sabah, Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, said 263 new cases were reported on Saturday, including the two students.
“The two students were part of the close contact follow-up of the screened students before they returned to the shelters on January 22,” he said.
He also said that two deaths were recorded, one in Kudat and the other in Sandakan.
Meanwhile, Masidi said the standard operating procedure (SOP) compliance rate in Sabah was around 93%.
“However, from road checks over the weekend, it was found that many road users had misused inter-district travel forms, leading to heavy traffic over the weekend.” , said.
He warned the public to comply with SOPs or risk a fine of RM 1,000.
