PETALING JAYA: An enhanced movement control order (MCO) will be implemented in two water villages in Labuan from Wednesday (October 21) to November 3, says Chief Minister Datuk Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The affected villages are Kg Sagu King and Kg Sebor where there has been a current peak of cases.
Some 8,062 villagers will undergo screening and swab tests conducted by the Health Ministry, the Defense Minister added.
“The app will also be assisted by various agencies, including the police, the military, the Department of Immigration and Public Defense,” Ismail Sabri said during his daily press conference on Tuesday (October 20).
Home surveillance orders (HSOs) will apply to those with symptoms and close contact with Covid-19 positive individuals, in addition to being ordered to wear detection bracelets for tracking purposes.
“Since the improved MCO is considered a total closure, affected residents of the area cannot enter or leave the area,” Ismail said.
“Social gatherings, even for religious activities, are also not allowed during the application of the improved OLS in these two villages.
“However, retailers and food establishments can operate on a limited basis until 6 pm every day within the affected areas,” he added.
The Department of Welfare and local government agencies will also be involved in delivering supplies for affected residents.
