Covid-19: two DBKL employees test positive

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): Two employees of the Kuala Lumpur City Council (DBKL) tested positive for Covid-19 and are in treatment at Sungai Buloh Hospital.

DBKL said the two employees are from the Department of Urban Planning (JPRB) located on the 10th floor of Menara DBKL 1 and the Department of Building Control (JKB) located on the 26th floor of Menara DBKL 3.

“The JPRB employee was confirmed positive on October 12, as her husband was a contact for an infected person at their workplace.

“The JKB employee, meanwhile, tested positive on October 14 after undergoing a swab test at the Cheras Health Clinic and is believed to have been infected by a family member,” he said in a statement Thursday ( October 15th).

DBKL, through the Department of Health and Environment, has carried out disinfection work in the lobby, elevators, third, 11, 12 and 13 floors of Menara DBKL 1 as well as the lobby, elevators and floors 26, 28 to 31 of Menara DBKL 3.

“The JPRB also sent a list of the names of the patient’s close contacts to the Gombak district health office and extended the list to the Kuala Lumpur Department of Health.

“The JKB has also done the same by sending a list to the Cheras Health Cllinic and the department,” he said.

adding that a representative of the Ministry of Health (MINSA) visited the towns today to carry out a risk analysis.

“DBKL has also carried out extensive disinfection operations on Menara DBKL 1,2 and 3 as scheduled.

“The standard operating procedure (SOP) stipulated by the National Security Council and the Health Ministry will be toughened to ensure the safety of visitors and employees,” he added. – Bernama
