PETALING JAYA: The Ministry of Health detected six new clusters that contributed to the increase in the number of infections.
Three of the groups, the Sandakan Prison Group, the Dialysis Group, and the Sepanggar Group, were detected in Sabah, while three more, Aero, Lengkuk and Gading, had cases that were detected in Selangor, Putrajaya and Negri. They sembilan.
The new clusters in Sabah accounted for 66 cases, while those in Peninsular Malaysia accounted for 42 cases.
Meanwhile, Health Director General Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said that two groups, Embun in Selangor and Bah Tanjung in Terengganu, were no longer active because positivity rates had decreased.
“As of November 4,247 people were tested from the Embun group and only seven tested positive. The positivity rate was 2.38%.
“Meanwhile, 230 people were tested from the Bah Tanjung cluster in Terengganu and eight tested positive, which set the positivity rate for this cluster at 3.48%,” he said.
Currently, the ministry manages 34 active Covid-19 clusters across the country.
On Wednesday (November 4), there were 1,032 new cases of Covid-19 in Malaysia, bringing the total cases to 35,425 since January.
The country also reported 820 new recoveries, bringing the total to 24,815.
However, the disease claimed eight patients on Wednesday, bringing the death toll from Covid-19 in the country to 271.
