Covid-19: Sarawak registers 0 new cases for the second consecutive day

KUCHING (November 22): Sarawak did not register new cases of Covid-19 today for the second day in a row, so the total accumulated cases in the state remained at 1,055.

Senior Deputy Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr. James Masing said five cases have been recovered and discharged today, three from Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and two from Miri Hospital.

“A total of 59 are still receiving treatment, of which 53 are at SGH and six at Miri Hospital,” Masing said at the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) Covid-19 update daily press conference. here today.

All in all, he noted that Sarawak to date has registered 997 recovery cases or about 92.61 percent of accumulated cases in the state.

So far, he said, all six groups in the state have remained active. These are Besi Cluster with 12 cases, Abell Road Cluster 15, Baki Cluster 33, Seladah Cluster 9, Green Hill Cluster 91 and Wisma Saberkas Cluster 44.

“The Kuching district is still a red zone, while Miri and Lawas are yellow zones. The other 37 districts of Sarawak are still Green Zones, ”Masing added.

Also today, he said there have been 38 new cases of persons under investigation (PUI) in the state, and two of them are still awaiting the results of laboratory tests.

At the same time, 108 new cases of people under surveillance (PUS) were also registered today, making a total of 3,258 quarantined cases in 31 hotels and non-hotel accommodations throughout the state.

In Kucing there are 1,980 cases of PUS, Miri 651, Bintulu 234, Limbang, Sibu 106 and Samarahan 98, according to SDMC statistics.
