PETALING JAYA: PLUS Malaysia has asked road users to strictly observe health and safety protocols to reduce the risk of transmission of Covid-19, as 1.5 million vehicles cross its road network in seven states.

Its managing director, Datuk Azman Ismail, said that the standard operating procedure (SOP) imposed by the authorities must be strictly observed in view of the very high volume of traffic and the increasing number of Covid-19 cases in the country.

“Wear face masks at all times and strictly observe the one meter social distance order when in our R&R (rest and service areas), on stopovers, and when interacting with PLUS customer service assistants,” he said in a released on Saturday (Oct 3).

In addition to checking the temperature, PLUS has made it mandatory for customers to use the MySejahtera contact tracing app when stopping by their premises.

“We also emphasize cleanliness in food courts and all R&R facilities, stopovers, and plaza tolls.

“There are scheduled routine cleaning and disinfection exercises.

“PLUS will intensify vigilance to ensure the safety and comfort of our leaders, customers and business partners.

“We call on our highway customers to respect the SOP imposed by the authorities in the spirit of the Kita Jaga Kita motto (we take care of each other).

“Our goal is to take good care of all of our clients.

“All PLUS personnel, from customer service assistants to PLUSRonda personnel, to toll plaza supervisors, must strictly observe the SOP,” he said.

Customers who do not wear face masks will be denied entry or prohibited from conducting transactions, he said.

Everyone should observe the new normal culture to reduce the risk of contracting Covid-19, he added.
