Covid-19 patient dies after falling from KK hospital

KOTA KINABALU: A Covid-19 patient who had recovered and was supposed to return home yesterday died after falling from a hospital here.

Kota Kinabalu OCPD Asst Habibi Majinjin said the 63-year-old man was hospitalized on October 13 after testing positive for the virus.

“He had recovered and was supposed to go home on Thursday,” he said.

But the woman is believed to have fallen from the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital building the night before her discharge.

ACP Habibi said police would speak with nurses and doctors who had treated the patient to learn more about the incident.

Meanwhile, a woman who was involved in an accident on an overpass near the airport here is still fighting for her life.

Helen Majain, 35, was riding in a vehicle that fell off the overpass around 10 p.m. Tuesday.

The driver, Jafri @ Jeffrey Pelasin, 51, was killed on the spot.

Helen is receiving treatment and is being monitored in the emergency unit at Queen Elizabeth II Hospital.
