Covid-19 (November 3): 1,054 new cases, 12 deaths

COVID-19 | The Ministry of Health reported 1,054 new cases of Covid-19 today and a record of 12 deaths in a 24-hour period that ends today at noon.

Leading indicators in brief:

Active cases = 10,135 ↑ (167 more than the previous day)

Patients in intensive care = 94 ↑ (3 more than the previous day)

Intubated patients = 32 (no change)

Deaths = 12

The Health Ministry said the 12 deaths were recorded in Sabah.

All 12 deaths were recorded in Sabah. Sabah’s cumulative death toll was 131.

This meant that Sabah’s death toll now accounted for half (49.8 percent) of all deaths in the country that were attributed to Covid-19.

The reported deaths ranged from 14 to 82 years old, with an average age of 59.5 years. Four of the victims were foreigners.

Of the 1,054 new cases, 14 cases were imported. Of the remaining locally transmitted cases, seven cases involved recent trips to Sabah. The cumulative cases related to travel to Sabah have reached 478.

Sabah continued to report the highest number of new cases (64.3 percent) followed by the Klang Valley regions (14.2 percent) and Labuan (7.7 percent).
