KUCHING (Nov 21): Sarawak reported no new Covid-19 cases today after registering a single digit number of cases over the past seven days.
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its daily update statement said today that the total number of positive cases in the state stood at 1,055.
No new groups were detected in Sarawak today, so the number of active groups remained at six groups, namely the Besi, Jalan Abell, Baki, Seladah, Greenhill and Wisma Saberkas groups.
In the statement, SDMC also said there was a new case that recovered from the virus and was discharged from the hospital, bringing the state’s total recovery and discharge cases to 972 or 92.13 percent of the total number of Covid-19 cases.
There are currently 64 cases still receiving treatment in hospitals, of which 56 are in isolation wards at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) and 8 cases at Miri Hospital. There are no cases that are receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit today.
The death toll in the state stood at 19 or 1.80 percent and no deaths were reported today.
SDMC also said that five new cases of persons under investigation (PUI) were detected today.
