Covid-19: Negative IGP test, to undergo a 14-day self-quarantine

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): Police Inspector General Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador, who attended the special meeting of the National Security Council (MKN) at the Prime Minister’s Department in Putrajaya last Saturday (October 3) tested negative for COVID-19 after undergoing a swab test on Monday (Oct 5).

Abdul Hamid said he is currently undergoing a 14-day self-quarantine as a preventive measure.

“I have undergone eight COVID-19 smear tests and the results have been negative,” he said in a short response to Bernama.

He said that his deputy, Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani, had full authority to manage the team during his period of self-quarantine.

On Monday, it was confirmed that Prime Minister’s Department Minister (Religious Affairs) Datuk Seri Dr. Zulkifli Mohamad Al Bakri tested positive for COVID-19 and is in treatment at the hospital.

Earlier yesterday, Health Director General Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah had said that a person who attended the meeting in the Prime Minister’s Department on Saturday had tested positive for the virus. – Bernama
