PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded its highest recovery from Covid-19 on a day when 4,525 patients were discharged on Sunday (February 14).

This means that 213,814 people in Malaysia have recovered from the coronavirus since the pandemic began, said Tan Sri Health Director-General Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah.
There are currently 49,490 active cases.
Of this number, 260 are in intensive care units, with 111 on ventilatory support.
At the same time, recoveries exceeded the 2,464 new Covid-19 infections reported.
The number of confirmed cases in the country now stands at 264,269.
The last time the number of daily cases was below 2,500 was more than a month ago, on January 11.
Seven people also died from the virus, bringing the death toll to 965.
Selangor recorded the highest number of cases with 1,103, with 867 cases detected in existing groups and detection of close contacts.
Johor recorded 492 cases, while Sarawak recorded 161 cases.

A nine-year-old boy from Sabah suffering from medulloblastoma (cancerous brain tumor) was one of the victims of the disease.
All the others who died also had comorbidities such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and kidney disease.
