Covid-19: Five Patients at Tung Shin Hospital Test Positive, Transferred to Sungai Buloh Hospital

PETALING JAYA: Tung Shin Hospital has confirmed that five people tested positive for Covid-19.

In a statement on Tuesday (October 6), the hospital administration said that four local patients who were undergoing a pre-surgery evaluation and one foreigner who was undergoing a pre-trip evaluation tested positive for the virus.

“The district health office was notified immediately and the patients were transferred to Sungai Buloh hospital for further treatment,” he said.

Hospital management also noted that contact tracing has been carried out correctly, while doctors and nurses who came into close contact with patients wore personal protective equipment.

“They also practiced sanitation and social distancing. We have also done risk stratification and most of them are in the low risk group.”

Management said those in the medium and high risk groups were screened with rt-PCR tests and told to undergo home quarantine for 14 days.

“We also closed all necessary departments and affected areas for terminal cleaning. It will open tomorrow. The hospital will also take all necessary precautions to protect patients, doctors, nurses and staff, ”said hospital management.

“We would like to urge everyone to remain calm and cooperate with us to adhere to routine standard operating procedures by wearing face masks at all times, taking body temperature, practicing good hygiene and maintaining a social distance of at least one meter,” added.
