PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Health has warned the public not to be swayed by “fake” flyers distributed by strangers who claim that China’s vaccines are not reliable.
Health Director General Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said the ministry is aware of leaflets being distributed in mailboxes in Selangor making claims against China.
“The information that has been released by this publication that claims that China’s vaccines are ineffective is false,” he said.
Dr. Noor Hisham added that China has produced many vaccines prequalified by the World Health Organization for influenza, polio, hepatitis A, and Japanese encephalitis.
“So they have experience in making vaccines. With Covid-19, the vaccines have yet to be tested, so clinical trials are necessary. We are still monitoring the development of 12 vaccines that are currently in testing.
“The National Drug Regulatory Agency (NPRA) will look at the effectiveness of the vaccines, as well as the side effects, if any,” Dr. Noor Hisham said at the ministry’s Covid-19 press conference here on Wednesday (9 de December).
