KUALA LUMPUR: Covid-19 Assessment Centers (CAC) established across the country will classify the level of infection of patients to determine the next course of action to manage them, including approval to undergo treatment at home, said the Minister of Health, Datuk Seri, Dr. Adham Baba.

He said that, in general, each district would have a CAC, although there is the possibility of perhaps two or more depending on the number of patients handled in the area.

“The role of the CAC is to identify patients who are suitable for home monitoring. CAC staff will monitor and evaluate your progress using the Home Assessment Tool (HAT), ”he said today in a statement.

Aside from that, Dr Adham said that the CAC would also identify patients who need referrals to Covid-19 Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centers (PKRC) or hospitals – that is, category one and two patients. they are not suitable for home treatment.

Each CAC, he said, would be headed by a district-level coordinator and those who need to communicate with the CAC can do so through the phone numbers provided by their respective District Health Office.

“The Ministry of Health (MINSA), through various levels and channels, will report on the next steps to be followed and practiced during your home treatment period,” said Dr. Adham.

He said that so far, a total of 213 CACs have been established across the country, and Sarawak has 40; Penang (30); Sabah (25); Selangor (19); Kelantan (14); Terengganu (13); Perlis, Kedah, Perak and Pahang (11 each); Johor (10); Negeri Sembilan (seven); Melaka, Kuala Lumpur / Putrajaya (five each); and Labuan (one). -Called
