KLANG: Approximately nine buses full of workers from medical glove maker Top Glove Corp Bhd were brought by the Health Department on Monday night (November 23).
Although the exact figures are not yet known, it is believed that just over 360 workers were transferred to Sungai Buluh and Kuala Lumpur hospitals for treatment for Covid-19.
Sources say the men were the ones who tested positive for Covid-19 on Monday.
Earlier Monday, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that the 28 Top Glove plants in the Kapar area will be closed in stages for mass testing of workers.
This follows the latest turn of events in which some 1,067 positive Covid-19 cases emerged from the Top Glove-linked Teratai group on Monday alone.
When contacted, Klang District Officer Mohd Zainal Mohd Nor confirmed that everyone being taken had tested positive.
“From the looks of it, the numbers seem to be increasing,” said Mohd Zainal, who is also the head of the Klang District Disaster Management Committee.
