Covid-19: 403 issued with compounds, four arrested for violating MCO recall on Friday (Nov 6)

KUALA LUMPUR: Compounds were issued to 403 people, while another four were arrested for violating the recovery motion control (MCO) order on Friday (Nov. 6).

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that among the crimes committed were not wearing face masks, not maintaining physical distancing, holding private parties and activities in entertainment venues.

“The compliance operations working group conducted 37,569 inspections nationwide.

“Among the locations reviewed are 2,842 supermarkets, 3,605 restaurants and 1,064 factories,” he said during his daily briefing on Saturday (November 7).

In Ops Benteng, Ismail Sabri said 15 undocumented immigrants, a Tekong and a smuggler were detained on Friday.

“The Armed Forces and police also detected 14 foreign ships in Penang waters on Friday.

“The intruders were expelled from Malaysian waters,” he said, adding that 286 roadblocks were made across the country.

He also urged anyone with information on illegal immigrants or cross-border crimes to contact the National Task Force at 011-62511223.

In another matter, 62,297 people have returned to Malaysia since July 24, Ismail Sabri said.

“A total of 9,513 people are under mandatory quarantine in 66 hotels and 18 other locations.

“384 people were sent to hospitals for treatment, while another 52,400 were discharged and allowed to return to their homes,” he added.

Meanwhile, on public sanitation operations, Ismail Sabri said 11,188 operations have been carried out in 137 areas since March 30.
