Covid-19: 291 new cases, two deaths in Sabah, says Masidi

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded another two deaths due to Covid-19 on Monday (Oct 12).

The minister in charge of Covid-19 affairs in Sabah Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said this brings the total number of deaths to 35 in the state.

He said there is also one more area included in the enhanced motion control (MCO) order, Felda Umas, Tawau, which will take effect from October 13 to October 26.

Previously, six areas in Semporna and one in Kunak were under the enhanced OLS that starts from October 13-26.

Meanwhile, Masidi said that Sabah recorded an additional 291 new cases of Covid-19 as of noon Monday.

He said this brings the total cumulative Covid-19 cases in Sabah to 4,621, with 2,688 still in treatment.

Regarding food baskets, the state government has distributed a total of 9,409 food baskets to affected people in the improved MCO districts of Lahad Datu, Semporna, Kunak, Tawau and Sandakan.

Masidi, who is also the state Housing and Local Government Minister and Finance Minister II, reminded everyone to strictly adhere to SOPs in an attempt to break the Covid-19 transmission chain.
