Covid-19: 23 new cases, no new deaths reported on Tuesday (Sept 15)

PETALING JAYA: Twenty-three new cases of Covid-19 were reported on Tuesday (September 15), including 10 imported cases, bringing the total number of infections to 9,969.

Tan Sri Chief Health Officer Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that of the 23 new cases, 13 were transmitted locally.

“Of the 13 local broadcasts, 10 involved Malaysians and three involved non-Malays. All local broadcasts happened in Sabah, ”he told a news conference on Tuesday.

He said there were four new cases from the Benteng Lahad Datu group, eight cases from the new Pulau group, and one case detected in a referral examination from Semporna Hospital to Tawau Hospital.

The ten cases that were imported involved five Malaysians and five non-Malays.

Four cases came from the Philippines, while the other countries were Hungary, Turkey, Qatar, Bangladesh, Nigeria and Morocco.

Six patients recovered on Tuesday, bringing the total number to 9,209 cases.

He also said that there were no fatalities and that the death toll remained at 128.

There are currently 632 active cases in the country, 14 cases in the intensive care unit and four cases requiring respiratory assistance.
