Covid-19: 1,168 new cases and three deaths

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded 1,168 new Covid-19 infections on Saturday (Nov 7), and Sabah continues to record the highest number of cases with 616.

Tan Sri Chief Health Officer Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said the country also reported three deaths, bringing the total deaths to 282.

Malaysia also discharged 1,029 patients, which means that the total recoveries is now 27,409, or a rate of 69.6%.

Meanwhile, the total number of active cases in the country has risen to 11,666 cases.

Altogether, the total number of cases registered in the country since the outbreak began in January is 39,357.

Currently, 87 people are being treated in intensive care units, and 32 of them require respiratory assistance.

Apart from the 616 cases from Sabah, Selangor recorded 247 cases, followed by Labuan (104 cases), Negri Sembilan (68 cases), Perak (37 cases), Kuala Lumpur (28), Sarawak (25 cases), Penang (18 cases ), Kedah (15 cases), Johor (five cases), Terengganu (three cases) and Melaka (two cases).
