Covid-19: 1,141 new cases, death toll remains at 376

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia recorded 1,141 new Covid-19 cases on Friday (Dec 4), bringing the total number of infections to 70,236 since the pandemic began.

At a press conference, Health Director General Tan Sri Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said that both Sabah and Selangor had 320 new cases respectively, the highest of all states.

Kuala Lumpur registered 256 new cases.

Dr Noor Hisham said 1,144 Covid-19 patients were discharged on Friday, bringing the total recoveries in the country to 59,061.

There are currently 10,799 active cases, in which all patients are currently being treated in hospitals nationwide.

Dr. Noor Hisham said that 129 patients are currently in intensive care, and 53 of them require respiratory support.

Three of the new cases on Friday are imported infections, while the rest are local transmission.

There are no new deaths from Covid-19 and the death toll remains at 376.
