JOHOR BARU: The police are looking for a voyeur who was accused by her neighbor of spying on her while she was showering in a house in Taman Setia Indah here.
Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Padzli Mohd Zain said the 24-year-old suspect had been identified and that police are awaiting an investigation warrant to detain the suspect.
“On Tuesday (November 17) at 2.26pm, a 23-year-old woman filed a police report claiming that her neighbor had been in the house while she was showering.
“The incident occurred around 7.15am on the same day that the victim noticed a movement in his bathroom window that was slightly open,” he said in a statement here on Thursday (November 19).
ACP Mohd Padzli added that the victim had been renting a room in the house for at least two months, and this was the second time it had happened since he moved into the house.
“The victim believed that the culprit was his neighbor, as he believed that the suspect was awake at the time of the incident.
“The victim also managed to record the suspect using his phone, but the footage is a bit blurry,” he said, adding that the case is investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code for gestures intended to insult a person’s modesty.
