KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): The government has allowed gyms in areas under the conditional motion control order (MCO) to resume operations in accordance with strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the National Security Council (NSC) says Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
The defense minister said this would go into effect on Monday (Oct 19) and that the government also allowed sporting activities on commercial soccer fields and futsal centers, but only for training purposes, subject to 10 participants at a time. .
He said the decision was made at the special session of the NSC on Saturday (October 17) after considering requests and appeals from the Ministry of Youth and Sports regarding sports activities in MCO conditional areas.
“The Ministry of Youth and Sports will report further announcements about SOPs in the near future,” he said at a virtual press conference via the Defense Ministry’s Facebook page on Saturday. – Bernama
