KUALA LUMPUR: The conditional motion control (MCO) order at Kampung Padang Che Mas in Baling, Kedah will end as scheduled on Saturday (October 31), says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Chief Minister (Security) said that a special meeting decided to end the conditional MCO there on October 31.

“Until Thursday (October 29), the Ministry of Health verified that no new positive cases of Covid-19 were registered in the area.

“The conditional MCO was announced as of October 18 and was scheduled to end on October 31,” he told reporters during his daily briefing on Friday (October 30).

On October 16, it was reported that Kampung Padang Che Mas would be subjected to conditional OLS after 25 people in the village were found to be infected with Covid-19.

A total of 236 people were tested for the virus and told to undergo mandatory home quarantine and wear quarantine bracelets.

Of those examined, all 25 cases involving five families were identified.

Meanwhile, Ismail said those who operated their own businesses or had no employers and needed to cross state or district borders should get permits to do so from the police.

“We understand that not everyone has employers who can send them letters that allow them to move around, especially within areas under conditional MCO.

“In such cases, the best solution is to go to the police station to obtain permission letters that allow them to cross state or district borders,” he said.

Ismail also said that the Armed Forces field hospital in Tawau had received 163 patients between October 20 and October 28 with 143 women and 20 men.

“The medical treatment offered at the field hospital included oncology, obstetrics and gynecology, as well as pediatrics,” he said.
