COVID-19 | A conditional motion control order (MCO) be imposed on Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Selangor and all of Sabah.
The measure will be imposed in Sabah at midnight tonight (October 13) while for the rest, it will take effect at midnight tomorrow (October 14).
Most industries will be able to operate normally, but schools, nurseries, places of worship, parks, sports activities, social activities, weddings, and entertainment venues are prohibited.
Travel between districts is only allowed for work purposes with proper identification issued by employers.
The full list of prohibited activities for Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Selangor, according to the press conference of Chief Minister (security group) Ismail Sabri Yaakob, is as follows:
– Cross the borders of the district, unless it is for work reasons.
– Have more than two people traveling together to go shopping.
– All forms of schooling: primary, secondary, tertiary, training institutes, nurseries, kindergartens and tahfiz schools.
– Parks and recreational centers.
– Visits to places of worship.
– All sporting, recreational, social and cultural events, including weddings.
– Entertainment points.
There are additional restrictions to the above for the territory of Sabah:
– Sunrise to dusk rule (6 am to 6 pm) for grocery stores, restaurants, food outlets, gas stations, pharmacies and medical rooms.
– Customers are not allowed for dinner.
– Wholesale and daily markets can only operate between 6 am and 2 pm
– Taxis and e-hailing services can only operate between 6 am and 8 pm
– All small and medium industries must apply for permission to operate.
