PETALING JAYA: The National Security Council has reviewed its previous decision to limit just two diners per table to a maximum of four in areas under the conditional movement control order (MCO), says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob (Photo).

The Chief Minister’s announcement comes one day after the start of the two-week conditional MCO in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya on Wednesday (October 14).

“Dining is allowed in restaurants subject to standard operating procedure and is limited to two people per table, but if the table is large, up to a maximum of four people per table is allowed,” he said during his daily Covid-19 briefing. Thursday. (October 15th).

He said current conditions were similar to those used during the conditional MCO in May, which was subsequently relaxed in June during the MCO recovery period.

“We allow dining at home during the previous conditional MCO, but we limit it to two to a maximum of four people per table.

“But during the MCO recovery period, we allowed tables to be joined and large tables to allow three to eight people to dine together as long as there was a physical distance between them in restaurants,” he said.

The clarification comes in the wake of confusion between restaurants and restaurant operators due to uncertainty about table sizes for the condition to apply or whether two or more diners were allowed for large or long tables.
