Group Prasarana Operations Director (Operations) Muhammad Nizam Alias ​​said that, in line with this, to encourage social distancing on trains and buses, peak travel hours extend from 7 a.m. at 11 a.m. in the morning and from 4 p.m. at 7 p.m. for peak hours at night for all services

“This means a higher frequency of trains during these periods,” he said in a statement.

He added that the morning and afternoon peak hour frequency for the Kelana Jaya LRT line has been established in a three-minute interval, while the Ampang / Sri Petaling LRT line has been established in a six-minute interval.

Muhammad Nizam also said that the Sungai Buloh-Kajang MRT service will have a maximum frequency of four minutes, adding that the monorail service operates at a frequency of six minutes.

He added that the public transport provider would place additional personnel to control passengers at the entrances and platforms of the station to guarantee social distancing on the train.

“This is a very challenging thing. We urge all passengers to cooperate closely with our staff to carry out their tasks. The power to break the Covid-19 transmission chain is in the hands of the public and the users of the transportation service. “They must be willing to practice social distancing and support each other,” he said.

Muhammad Nizam also said that trains and buses would have special signs to help with the practice of social distancing, adding that to facilitate social distancing measures, rail services would carry 50% of their total passenger capacity, while for buses, it will be 30%

He also advised rail, bus, and ferry passengers to always wear face masks and practice good personal hygiene, especially washing their hands regularly with hand sanitizers, which would be provided at all LRT, MRT, monorail, and BRT train stations. , bus and ferry centers. terminals.

Muhammad Nizam added that the disinfection operations would continue on Prasarana-managed trains, buses and ferries, including (train) stations, bus centers and ferry terminals.
