KUCHING (Bernama): The Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has decided to extend the conditional MCO in the Kuching district until Thursday (November 27).

“Infections are not concentrated in certain areas and as such, after risk assessment, the conditional MCO in Kuching district runs until November 27,” he said at the daily Covid-19 press conference here. on Sunday.
The entry procedure and the 14-day quarantine requirement when entering Sarawak have also been extended until further notice.
Masing said that movement in and out of the Kuching district was also prohibited, except for official business and labor purposes, showing permission letters or work passes from employers, while emergency cases must request a permit from the police.
Masing, who is also Senior Deputy Minister of Sarawak, said that nurseries and kindergartens in the red and yellow zones can operate subject to standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the Ministry of Welfare, Community Welfare, Women, Family and Child Development of the state.
Operators, he said, will be fully responsible for compliance with the SOPs and will inform the ministry prior to commercial opening for recording and monitoring purposes.
Meanwhile, the number of passengers in a private vehicle is in accordance with the vehicle’s capacity and is no longer limited to just three people, he added.
According to Masing, the state government would continue to bear the cost of quarantine for the inhabitants of Sarawak, while their spouses, who are not citizens of Sarawak, would have to pay themselves. – Bernama
