KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 93 barricades have been installed around the Klang Valley on the first day of the conditional movement control order (MCO).

Police Deputy Inspector General Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said that 66 roadblocks were installed in Selangor, while 27 roadblocks were installed in Kuala Lumpur.

“We are also focusing on the borders of the Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Selangor districts and states.

“We started from midnight on Wednesday (October 14),” he said when contacted by The Star on Wednesday.

The checks revealed that most people are complying with the conditional MCO, he added.

“The government’s goal of limiting the movement of people has been achieved.

“However, we are still monitoring the situation,” Acryl Sani said.

Acryl Sani said Bukit Aman’s Director of Internal Security and Public Order, Comm Datuk Seri Abd Rahim Jaafar, is tasked with reviewing operations on the ground.

“We will review and improve certain areas if the need arises.

“So far, everything is running smoothly,” he added.

He also reminded people to adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs), especially when traveling between districts.

“Our ultimate goal is to stop the spread of Covid-19.

“We hope the public will fully cooperate in this matter,” said Acryl Sani.
