PETALING JAYA: The conditional movement control order (CMCO) for all Selangor and Kuala Lumpur districts will run until January 14 next year, Chief Security Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob said.

At a press conference, Ismail said this was due to the large number of active cases in the affected areas.

The CMCO for Selangor and Kuala Lumpur was scheduled to end on December 31, except for the Sabak Bernam, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Selangor districts, which were not affected.

The CMCO for all Sabah districts has also been extended until January 14.

For Penang, the CMCO for two sub-districts, Mukim 12 in the southwest district and Mukim 13 in the northeast district, will run from January 1 to January 14.

For Negeri Sembilan, the CMCO in Seremban will run until January 14, while the CMCO in Port Dickson will end today.

Meanwhile, the Enhanced MCO (EMCO) at Seremban Prison and its staff quarters will end today.

The CMCO in Johor Bahru and Batu Pahat will run until January 14, but the partial closure in Kulai will end today. The EMCO in Kluang Prison and its staff quarters also ran until January 14.

In Perak, Ismail said the CMCO in Ipoh and Chemor in the Hulu Kinta sub-district will end earlier than scheduled today.

However, the EMCO at the Langkap Immigration Detention Depot and its staff quarters in Hilir Perak district will be extended for two weeks following the increase in positive cases.

Ismail added that Madrasah Daril Naim, Padang Halban in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, will be under EMCO from tomorrow until January 11.

This was done with the advice of the Ministry of Health, which has so far registered 29 positive cases in the town.
