KUCHING, February 13: The Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) in Sarawak, scheduled to end tomorrow, will run until March 1, the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said.

The SDMC, in a statement, announced that the implementation of the CMCO was also effective in the Sibu Division which prior to this was under the Movement Control Order (MCO) until tomorrow (February 14).

“The decision was made because the current COVID-19 situation in Sarawak has not yet been fully controlled, according to the statement.

At today’s meeting of the SDMC, it was also decided that movement between zones in the state was also not allowed, except with the permission of the police.

“(In addition), economic activities such as daily markets, wholesale markets, farmers markets, night markets and night bazaars in red zones cannot operate,” according to SDMC.

Today there were 152 new COVID-19 infections in Sarawak, bringing the total number of cases to 6,425. Called
