PUTRAJAYA (Bernama): Public and private nurseries or nurseries can operate under the conditional movement control order (MCO), says the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development.
Their minister Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun, however, said that they must obtain approval from the respective state Welfare Departments and follow the stipulated standard operating procedure (SOP) for conditional MCO before this.
“There is no obstacle for them to operate. The ministry understands that the economic sector must function normally and parents have to go out to work,” he said.
“But all centers must consult with the state Department of Social Welfare. The ministry had directed all state Social Welfare Departments to examine applications for the centers to function,” he told reporters at the ministry here on Thursday ( 12th of November).
On the SOPs for the centers, Rina said they included giving the children their baths at home and adhering to the schedule for sending their children to the centers to avoid congestion.
The conditional MCO is implemented in Peninsular Malaysia except Kelantan, Pahang and Perlis until December 6 to curb the spread of Covid-19. – Bernama
