PUTRAJAYA: Public and private nurseries or nurseries can operate under the conditional movement control order (CMCO), the Ministry of Development of Women, Family and Community said today.

His Minister Rina Mohd Harun, however, said that these centers, including the “taska”, must obtain the approval of the respective Departments of Social Welfare (JKM) at the national level and follow the stipulated SOPs.

“There is no obstacle for them to work. The ministry understands that the economic sector must function normally and parents have to go out to work.

“But each center must consult with the state JKM. The ministry has instructed each state JKM to analyze requests for the centers to function, ”he told reporters at his ministry here.

On PCOS at the centers, Rina said they included giving the children their baths at home and adhering to the schedule of sending their children to the center to avoid congestion there.

CMCO is operational in Peninsular Malaysia, except Kelantan, Pahang and Perlis, until December 6.
