“Other close contact screening tests have found that 27 other people tested positive for Covid-19 and all of them have been admitted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital and also to the low-risk quarantine and treatment center at Likas Sports Complex.
“So far, we have tested 128 people from this group and 30 have tested positive,” he said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Noor Hisham also reminded Malaysians to watch out for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) alongside the impending celebration of World Diabetes Day on November 14, which is also Deepavali.
He said that nurses play an important role in the prevention, detection, treatment and recovery of diabetic patients.
“In appreciation of nurses, our theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Diabetes: Nurses are the pulse of change.’
“As we fight Covid-19, we must remember that NCDs must also be controlled,” he said, adding that there are 3.8 million Malaysians who are diabetic so far.
“As we celebrate Deepavali, let’s not forget to eat moderately, adhere to standard operating procedure, and undergo health screenings,” he said.
With the cooperation of Perbadanan Putrajaya, Dr. Noor Hisham noted that starting Thursday night at 7pm until November 15, the buildings and surroundings in Putrajaya will be illuminated in blue at night in support of and thanks to nurses and other leaders for their tireless efforts to care for chronically ill patients in these difficult times.
