Check again, AirAsia passengers said after detecting positive flight cases

TAWAU: All 402 AirAsia AK5742 and AK5740 passengers to Tawau Airport on May 1 and 4 were asked to visit the nearest health clinic for a second evaluation after Covid-19 cases were detected among individuals in both flights.

Dr. Suzalina Sulaiman, Tawau Area II Health Officer, said that at 8 am today, 39 people, including eight students, showed up for testing at a health clinic in Kubota.

The people on board the two flights that tested positive were asymptomatic, he told reporters here.

Meanwhile, three students from higher education institutions returning to their districts were found to have violated the home quarantine order.

“We investigated and took photos as evidence after receiving complaints from the public. Students will be charged in court, “she said.

He added that the students were among 402 AirAsia passengers in Kuala Lumpur.
