The Deputy Minister of the Prime Minister’s Department, Ahmad Marzuk Shaary, said that the people involved in the video had apologized.

KOTA BHARU: A video involving the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tabung Haji (TH) Properties Sdn Bhd who used rude words does not reflect the true image of the company as an Islamic institution, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Islamic Affairs ) Ahmad Marzuk Shaary said today.

Rather, he added, it was simply a “personal offense” committed by the highest member of the company’s staff.

“It was a closed-door meeting and we don’t know how it could have leaked… Perhaps there is something that needs to be investigated thoroughly and comprehensively from the administrative aspect.

“Therefore, we are conducting an internal investigation to identify the real cause, why there are parties in the meeting or local or the organization that are in a hurry to filter this matter,” he said about the video that went viral.

He told reporters this after officiating at the Pengkalan Chepa-level circumcision program at the Dewan Pusat Asuhan Tunas Islam, in Pengkalan Chepa, near here.

Recently, a three-minute video went viral on social media in which the CEO of TH Properties uttered vulgar words in English and Bahasa Malay several times at a meeting believed to have involved the agency’s administrative staff.

Marzuk said, however, that TH Properties and the people involved had apologized.
