TAWAU (Bernama): All those who recently participated in a soccer competition at the Tawau Prison Field and Tawau Municipal Council (MPT) Stadium, including spectators, must undergo a Covid-19 test from righ now.
Dr. G. Navindran, Tawau District Health Official, said that as of Sunday (September 6), around 100 people had come forward for a Covid-19 test at the Tawau Health Clinic in Kubota here after to receive instructions to do so the day before.
“Testing has been conducted from 8 am and the center is open until 5 pm for people involved in soccer games to screen Covid-19,” he said.
On Saturday (September 5), the Tawau District Health Office issued a notice requesting all players, spectators, and others involved in the nine-a-side soccer competition on August 28, 29 and September 2 at the Tawau prison camp and August 30 and 31. at MPT stadium here to test for Covid-19.
They were also urged to call 019-605 3475 or 016-472 9314 for more information.
The call to submit to the test came after one of the arbitrators, who is also an officer from Tawau Prison, tested positive for Covid-19 on Saturday. – Bernama
