Interior Minister Hamzah Zainudin is among several ministers affected by Covid-19.

PETALING JAYA: Interior Minister Hamzah Zainudin’s office says he is in a stable condition as he recovers from Covid-19, following rumors that his health had deteriorated.

In a statement, he said that Hamzah is being treated at the Malaya University Medical Center (UMMC) and thanked those who had expressed concern about his condition.

“Any legitimate and official update on Hamzah’s health will only be issued by the interior minister’s office,” he added.

Rumors had circulated on social media that Hamzah’s condition had worsened and that he had been admitted to the intensive care unit.

Hamzah became the third Perikatan Nasional minister to test positive for Covid-19, after the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Rina Harun, and the Minister of the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy), Mustapa. Mohamed.

The Minister of National Unity, Halimah Sadique, and the Vice Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Zahidi Zainul Abidin, also tested positive a few days later.
