Budget 2021 – RM 50 e-wallet credit for 18-20 year olds

PETALING JAYA: Youth ages 18-20 will receive a one-time RM 50 credit to their e-wallet through the eYouth Program.

Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz said that RM75mil had been allocated to the program and would benefit 1.5 million young people across the country.

“Young people play an important role as forerunners and consumers in adapting the latest technology.

“Moving towards a culture of cashless transactions, the government, through eYouth, will credit a one-time RM50 to young people’s e-wallets,” he said during the presentation of Budget 2021 in Parliament on Friday (November 6).

Tengku Zafrul also said RM 19,000 would be allocated to implement the National Agenda for Healthy Malaysia.

“This (the Agenda) aims to promote a healthy lifestyle among Malaysians and reduce the risk of diabetes, hypertension and obesity.

“As much as RM28mil will go towards running programs like MyFit, Hari Sukan Negara and the Inspire program for the disabled,” he added.
