Liverpool have found an unlikely ally in the form of Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes.
It’s been a bleak 2021 so far for Jurgen Klopp’s side. Thursday’s surprising loss to Burnley ended the Reds’ undefeated home league record of 68 games. He also extended his Premier League goalless streak to four games.
Their poor form has also caused them to lose a beat in the race for the Premier League title. They are six points behind current leaders United.
Liverpool have a chance to put their league woes aside in the FA Cup this weekend.
However, on their way to a place in the fifth round, are the Red Devils at Old Trafford. It’s not an easy feat to claim a victory there given the current contrasting fortunes of the two sides.
Fernandes, however, is convinced that Liverpool are not playing as badly as they say. Furthermore, he insists that Klopp’s team still represents a great danger to United’s hopes for the FA Cup.
“Teams have moments, I think,” Fernandes said. United Official Website. “I don’t think Liverpool are playing badly. I think they don’t win and that’s the point.
“When teams don’t win, everyone talks about it. When players don’t score, everyone talks about it.
“I’m sorry because I know the standard is high, because I arrived and scored a lot of goals and gave a lot of assists. Now everyone wants goals and help from me.
“It’s the same, everyone expects goals from [Mohamed] Salah by [Roberto] Firmino and from [Sadio] Mane. They’re not scoring in the last few games and he’s starting to feel like, ‘oh, they’re not playing well. They create, they play, but the other teams are playing better and, as I said before, they have more qualities to play with.
“All the teams are going to play maybe without the pressure of the fans. Teams play a little more comfortably and, as I say, I think it’s a moment.
“We don’t have to look at that moment because great teams and great players can show themselves at all times.”

Liverpool form in front of three expert deflectors
Liverpool legend John Aldridge has said that Jurgen Klopp’s change of form in the three forwards in recent weeks “leaves him flabbergasted.”
Mane, Salah and Firmino have proven to be unmissable for the Reds in recent seasons.
However, since Christmas, Liverpool have only scored one goal in the top flight, which came from Mane. Plus, such a sterile career has been spread across five games and seen them slide across the table.
Writing in a column for him Echo of Liverpool, former forward Aldridge said he can’t believe the dramatic change in shape of the three players.
“The three forwards are pointing their fingers at them and rightly so because they pay you to score goals,” he said. wrote.
“You have a lot of money to score goals and you have to do it. Center forwards have to score one out of every two games basically and they’re not doing it.
“I am dumbfounded. A team that is scoring like Liverpool, to go from one extreme to the other. We were all concerned about the defense, but the defense has been brilliant.
“It’s the attack part and the three forwards have lost their mojo.”
