KAJANG: Two brothers have been charged in the Magistrates Court here for the murder of the woman’s blind husband in a bloody scheme said to be related to the victim’s property.
GS Angela Dewi, who operates a restaurant, and her brother GS Vijaya, 42, were jointly charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for the death of R. Devarajoo, 59.
They allegedly committed the crime between 12 pm and 1 pm in a PKNS low-cost housing area in Kg Baru Sungai Chua, here, on October 1.
The brothers, who were not represented, face a mandatory death sentence when found guilty.
Deputy Prosecutor Muhammad Hairuliqram Hairuddin appeared before the prosecution.
No reason was recorded.
Magistrate Muhammad Noor Firdaus Rosli set December 21 for his mention.
Police were reported to have received a report of a home invasion in Kampung Baru Sungai Chua on October 1.
The “assailant” was said to have struck the victim on the head with a hammer during the robbery, resulting in serious injuries.
Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Zaid Hassan said the victim, who owned a transportation business, succumbed to her injury and died in hospital on October 10.
He said investigations revealed that the murder was for the victim’s property.
