It was further proof of the wellness factor that surrounds the Academy today, with graduates Curtis Jones, Neco Williams and Caoimhin Kelleher starring as the first team in their Champions League win over Ajax at Anfield that same night.

As Liverpool have clinched the top spot in the group with one game remaining, Klopp is expected to give more youngsters a chance for the final group match in Denmark against FC Midtjylland next Wednesday.
