WASHINGTON: Joe Biden intends to appoint former Obama State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki as his White House press secretary, the Sputnik news agency reported, citing an announcement from Biden’s transition team.
On Sunday, Biden’s team announced new members of the White House staff who will fill high-level communication positions.
“I am proud to announce today the White House’s first senior communications team made up entirely of women. These skilled and experienced communicators bring diverse perspectives to their work and a shared commitment to better rebuild this country, ”said Biden, as quoted in his team’s statement Sunday.
Biden’s communications team will be led by Kate Bedingfield, a longtime aide who served as his campaign communications director and will now serve as the White House communications director. Biden also named Jen Psaki as his White House press secretary on Sunday.

The main US media have projected that Democratic candidate Joe Biden will be the winner of the presidential election on November 3. Official results have yet to be announced.
