PETALING JAYA: Opposition PKR Chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim hails the victory of US President-elect Joe Biden and his Vice-President-elect Kamala Harris as a victory over racism and human rights.
In a series of tweets on Sunday (November 8), Anwar congratulated Biden and Harris on their victory in the recently concluded 2020 US presidential election.
“Congratulations to @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris for winning the US presidential election.
“The American people have chosen unity over racism and a government committed to peace, defending human rights and the environment.
“Malaysia and the United States have a long history in trade and bilateral relations and it is my sincere wish that this relationship will be further strengthened,” Anwar said in his tweet.
Biden and Harris of the Democratic Party joined forces to defeat outgoing President Donald Trump of the Republican Party.
Harris will also become the woman of color to be named Vice President of the United States.
