Belanjawan 2021: Government to provide free RM 50 e-wallet credit for youth through eBelia

To help spread awareness of the cashless economy, the government will provide RM 50 e-wallet credit to citizens aged 18-20. The credit will be delivered through a program called eBelia that was announced as part of Belanjawan 2021.

According to the announcement by Finance Minister Tengku Zafrul Tengku Aziz, the government has allocated 75 million ringgit for the eBelia program. More than 1.5 million citizens are expected to receive the one-time e-wallet credit, according to the minister.

However, it is not known when the government will start the program, as Minister Zafrul did not make further clarifications during his speech at Belanjawan 2021. Since it revolves around the e-wallet, we wonder if it is based on national wallet programs. Earlier electronics such as E-Tunai Rakyat and ePENJANA.
