Barcelona warned Manchester United that any attempt to sign Ousmane Dembélé on loan will be met with immediate rejection.

The World Cup-winning Barcelona winger has become Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s favorite option with a deal for Jadon Sancho that still seems doubtful.

The Red Devils have chased Sancho long and hard this summer. Yet those hopes remain in the balance despite the fact that United reportedly submitted a new and improved offer.

According to reports this week, United has requested to sign Dembele on an initial loan agreement. Under the terms of their proposal, United would sign the World Cup winner with a purchase option.

However, even though the player is apparently not in Ronald Koeman’s plans, Barcelona is in no rush to accept a loan.

According Sports worldBarcelona have told United bosses that it is a permanent transfer or nothing for the winger.

To further complicate matters, Barcelona sports director Ramon Planes insists that United is not hunting for Dembélé.

“There are no negotiations with Man United, [we] deny that completely. He is a player we have ”.

However, Sports world, are convinced that Barça would collect money if United were to approach more than 50 million pounds.

Koeman addressed speculation about the Frenchman’s future earlier this week, saying: “The first thing to say is that it depends on the club and the player.

“But he is with us and as we have seen in the last weeks I count on him… he has to wait to play but he is training well, getting fit.

“I mean I’m counting on him.”

When asked why Dembélé did not play against Villarreal, he added: “Dembélé did not start in the last game because Ansu Fati has proven to be a very good player and will have to bide his time.”

Meanwhile, reports claim that Paul Pogba has taken it upon himself to try to convince the player to move to Old Trafford.

Sports world reports that Pogba has personally called his partner in an attempt to persuade him to make the move. Furthermore, he is said to be “totally behind” United’s efforts to bring it to the Northwest.

Darren Fletcher mistrusts Dembélé’s ‘risk’

Former United star Darren Fletcher acknowledges it would be a huge risk if United signed. Dembélé.

Despite his obvious talent, the 23-year-old has suffered injuries since moving to the Camp Nou.

As such, Fletcher has explained why his arrival on loan would initially be a better option.

“I think Ousmane Dembele is a right winger, a position that they are finally identifying.

Ousmane Dembélé

“It comes with its risks: His injury history is not very good in recent seasons. I think he only made five league appearances last season, but he is a talented player.

“Barcelona bought it for £ 100 million or something like that.

“I think a loan agreement would suit United, and probably both parties, I think they need a new challenge, to reach a massive club like Manchester United.

“It’s an opportunity to show himself, get opportunities, get fit and potentially look for a transfer in the future, but I wouldn’t say they have to sign him due to his injury history, and he has a tendency to be late a lot of the time. judging by the reports.

“United should give him the opportunity to show himself and be the player everyone thought he would become.”
