BARCELONA has reportedly made NINE players available to Premier League clubs this summer to raise the money to finally sign Neymar again.
The Mirror claims that LaLiga champions are desperate to raise funds amid the coronavirus outbreak and are open to offers to buy or lend a large number of stars, including Antoine Griezmann and Philippe Coutinho.
The report that superstar captain Lionel Messi is the exception to available players, with Barça hoping to add Neymar and Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan.
France’s World Cup winner Griezmann will put several European giants on red alert, including Manchester United, Chelsea and Everton.
The Red Devils had tried to sign the 29-year-old before sealing his £ 108 million move to Barcelona last year from Atlético Madrid.
Meanwhile, former Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele have also been named among the club’s dead wood, with the two forwards suffering injury campaigns.
The best clubs in England have been informed that midfielders Ivan Rakitic, who has attracted the interest of United and Tottenham, and Arturo Vidal are on the table.
At the back, Arsenal’s target Samuel Umtiti is among the available defenders alongside Nelson Semedo and Sergi Roberto.
And finally, Coutinho seems to be leaving the Camp Nou this summer after spending this season on loan with Bayern Munich.
Chelsea has also been interested in a move for the Brazilian, while Newcastle has been touted as an unlikely option if Mauricio Pochettino takes over when the Toon acquisition is completed.
Barcelona has recently confirmed that it intends to only do exchanges this summer, as a result of the financial crisis imposed by the coronavirus pandemic.
They intended to buy Neymar before Covid-19, but were unwilling to hit the starting price of £ 176 million, while recent reports claimed that the Paris-Saint Germain star was seeking to exploit a FIFA loophole for a return to Spain.
SunSport previously reported that Barcelona was willing to provoke a desperate sale of its top stars to raise the necessary funds.
Marta Ramon, a Barcelona reporter for the Catalan radio station RAC1, told SunSport: “It is perfectly true to say that the Barcelona council is willing to sell players.”
“Actually, they are a little desperate to do it. Does that mean they want to sell most of the equipment? No.
“But … are they open to studying offers for most of them? Hell yes!
“They were desperate before the coronavirus. Now the situation has worsened.”
