Veteran director Barathiraja thanked the Tamil Nadu government for organizing SP Balasubrahmanyam’s funeral with all the honor of state. The director paid his last respects to the legendary singer on his farm in Chennai’s Thamaipakkam. After the funeral, he met with the press, where he said that he will never be able to think that his Balu is gone. He said: “Only his body leaves us. But he will be with me until my heart beats. With the full honor of the government, the mortal remains of SP Balasubrahmanyam were buried on Saturday. Legendary composer Ilayaraja composed SPB tribute music that was played during the funeral. SP Balasubrahmanyam was admitted to a Chennai-based private hospital on August 4 after he tested positive for COVID 19.
