KUALA LUMPUR: Muar Syed Saddiq MP Syed Abdul Rahman fulfilled his promise to shave his head after reaching the 200,000 ringgit contribution target to buy laptops for students in his constituency.

Interestingly, the shaving session started by his own mother, Sharifah Mahani Syed Abdul Aziz, was held live on a local television show.

Syed Saddiq also shared the experience of his mother cutting his hair when he was six years old on the show.

After his mother’s initial haircut, the task was taken on by a professional hairdresser to complete his haircut to baldness.

Previously, the former Minister of Youth and Sports launched the # 1keluarga1laptop campaign with the aim that all families in the Muar constituency have a laptop for their children.

It targeted 500 families with incomes below RM 1,500 who have children who are pursuing their education at institutions of higher education.

The campaign managed to raise RM383,000 in five days.

“So far, 120 families in the Muar constituency have received the laptops,” he said.
