KUALA LUMPUR, December 28 – AT Systematization Bhd (ATS) expects to reach a production capacity of up to 2.6 billion pieces of medical grade nitrile gloves per year by June 2021, following the launch of its glove manufacturing factory in Chemor, Perak today.

Managing Director Choong Lee Aun said this development reflected the group’s commitment to the glove manufacturing business, effectively positioning ATS as a powerful representative of strong global glove demand.

“We are proud of the speed of our progress in getting production off the ground. It shows that we are committed to delivering gloves to address shortages amid the Covid-19 pandemic, ”he said today in a statement.

ATS, an automation solutions provider, has taken just over four months to build its factory alongside its state-of-the-art manufacturing capacity.

By comparison, the group said that other participants in the glove business would typically take a year to complete their manufacturing facilities.

He also said that his glove factory will be “future-proof” for the Industrial 4.0 ecosystem, equipped with a manufacturing execution system to provide real-time production monitoring and control, production control and monitoring, and record retention to meet with standard regulations.

The completion of production on Line 1 of the factory is in line with the group’s projected schedule made earlier this year.

“ATS aims to see the start of Line Two in the coming weeks. In addition, ATS has started working on Phase 2 of the glove factory, ”said Choong.

The group also plans to tap into the export market, especially after its products recently obtained CE marking certification. – Bernama
