KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama) – Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd (ASNB) has declared a total income distribution payment of RM645.9 million for its fixed price fund, Amanah Saham Malaysia 3 (ASM 3), and variable price funds, ASN Equity 5 and ASN Sara (Conservator of Mixed Assets) 2, for the financial year ending September 30, 2020.
Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB), owner of the trust unit, said ASM 3 declared a total income distribution payment of RM571.3 million benefiting 513,721 shareholders who currently own 14.3 billion units.
It said the yield of 4.0 sen per unit remains competitive and exceeds Maybank’s 12-month fixed deposit yield of 2.51 percent by 149 basis points (bps) for the financial year to date through Sept. 24.
ASNB also declared a total revenue distribution payment of RM12.7 million for ASN Equity 5, which is equivalent to 3.1 sen per unit, to 11,029 shareholders with 413.2 million units.
“This equates to a 3.51 percent dividend yield based on the fund’s net asset value (NAV) as of September 24,” he said.
Meanwhile, ASN Sara 2 delivered a total income distribution payment of RM61.9 million, which is equivalent to 3.60 sen per unit for 39,559 shareholders with a holding of 1.7 billion units, providing a return dividend of 3.61% based on the fund’s NAV as of September 24.
“The income distribution reported by ASM 3, ASN Equity 5 and ASN Sara 2 are derived from realized fund earnings, dividends and other income, and this is in accordance with PNB’s goal of continuing to provide long-term sustainable returns to its shareholders, “it said.
PNB said that the income distribution calculation for ASM 3 was based on the average minimum monthly balance maintained throughout the financial year, while for ASN Equity 5 and ASN Sara 2, the calculations were based on units held at the end of the financial year. financial year of the funds.
The declared distribution will be rolled over as additional units to shareholders’ accounts and will be automatically credited on October 1, 2020 for ASM 3 and October 2, 2020 for ASN Equity 5 and ASN Sara 2.
Transactions at all ASNB branches and offices will be temporarily suspended from September 24 to September 30 for ASM 3 and from September 29 to October 1 for ASN Equity 5 and ASN Sara 2, to facilitate the calculation of income distribution.
Unit holders can update their accounts at www.myasnb.com.my or via the myASNB mobile app, or at any branch of ASNB or its agents nationwide when transactions resume on October 1 for ASM 3 and on October 2 for ASN Equity 5 and ASN Sara 2, respectively.
